The Birth Of A Network
By Don Rebel
Scholastic sports in Western Pennsylvania will never be the same.
The Nauticom Sports Network (N.S.N.) kicks off it's first season
this fall with an all out blitz of coverage on the high school
and college gridirons.
N.S.N. is a unique marriage between radio and the Internet. Over
twenty games each week will be broadcast on radio stations throughout
Western Pennsylvania and on the World Wide Web. Whether you're punching
your dial or clicking your mouse, you will have access to the best
coverage from the hardest working team in showbiz.
The N.S.N. team is powered by experienced scholastic veterans,
including Alex Panormios, Don Rebel, Rick Smith, Al Goehring, Bob
Orkwis, Dave Shinsky, and John Phillips. With the aide of Rich
Emert from the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review and Mike White of the
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, no stone will be left unturned.
You can prepare for all the weekend's gridiron action with
"Scholastic Forum", an Internet only talk show, Wednesday
nights from 7-9pm. Don Rebel will host the show, featuring live
interviews with area high school and college coaches, as well
as previews and predictions from the N.S.N. team. You can e-mail
any questions or comments to
sportsnet@nauticom.net.
Be a player in the interactive show!
Friday nights, the hottest action around the WPIAL can be found
on N.S.N. With twenty games to choose from, reports from other
top games, and updated scores throughout the evening, you no
longer have to wait for the eleven o'clock news to find out
what happened in the night's high school football action.
Then on Saturdays, our attention switches from high school
to college football, featuring Duquesne, Robert Morris,
I.U.P., and Carnegie Mellon. Plus, we'll kick out updates
on the University of Pittsburgh, Penn State, and other
scores from local to major colleges around the country.
If your passion for scholastic sports doesn't end on Saturday,
The Nauticom Sports Network has the web page for you. We
bring you up-to-date standings, statistics, schedules,
articles, interviews, previews, reviews, chat rooms,
merchandise, and a whole lot more. Plus, all games on The
Nauticom Sports Network are archived so you can listen to
them whenever you want, as often as you want.
Tell your family, tell your friends. When it comes to the
very best in high school and college football, on the radio
and on the World Wide Web, take your seat in the stands,
beginning September 1st, with The Nauticom Sports Network.
