Nauticom was established in 1989 and is one of the area's oldest internet-based organizations - a complete internet service provider serving the Pittsburgh area and Western Pennsylvania. Nauticom is owned by North Pittsburgh Systems Inc. (NPSI), a company that has been in business nearly 100 years and boasts over 300 employees, $66 million in annual revenue, and a listing on the Nasdaq exchange. NPSI also owns and operates North Pittsburgh Telephone Company, Penn Telecom, Inc. and is a limited partner in Boulevard Communications, LLP.

Nauticom provides its clients with secure, diverse, state-of-the-art products and services and strives to build long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with those clients. In this spirit, Nauticom sought to establish a partnership with the Scholastic Sports Network (SSN) - one that would help expose SSN's broadcasts to an even broader audience via the internet.

Through this partnership, the new Nauticom Sports Network anticipates utilizing fifteen or more Western Pennsylvania radio stations with a tradition of bringing Friday night sports coverage to their local communities. The immediate demand for this service is so great that the Nauticom Sports Network plans to offer more games per season as well as a larger variety of sporting events.
